Welcome to the Law Office of Michelle Charbonneau.
My modern approach to lawyering balances personalized
legal counsel with practical real-world options.
BIOGRAPHY.

I am a seasoned and versatile lawyer who specializes in business and
commercial law with a focus on real estate. I have solid experience handling breach of contract claims, commercial lease disputes and construction issues
in federal, state and civil courts. I also have particular expertise advising cooperative and condominium boards on their rights and remedies and
serving as their litigation counsel on an as-needed basis. Aside from dealing
with disputes, I also negotiate complex agreements with developers, contracts to ensure compliance with local laws (i.e., LL 11) as well as license and access agreements relating to neighboring work and capital improvements. While much of my practice involves representing business owners, I also enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life, including property owners, entrepreneurs, shareholders, mortgagors, debtors, landlords and everyday people, like myself.

In addition to managing my own firm, I serve as "of counsel" to two highly reputable law firms specializing in complex
real estate matters, business transactions and trusts and estates.
Before establishing my own practice, I was a partner at a prominent boutique real estate firm. My legal career began as an associate at well-established commercial and civil litigation firms in New York City.
